No it's better than that - it's breakfast at the Columbia Flower Market in east London. It's quite a trandition apparently to get coffee and breakfast and roam the pedestrian-only streets of fresh flower stands. All the while flower hawkers yell out their deals in cockney accents. Audrey Hepburn would have felt right at home there - either as Eliza Doolittle or as Holly Golightly.

I was lucky to be there on such a beautiful morning. Lots of families and big prams and gorgeous flowers - including thistles.

Artemis - Goddess of the Hunt

Artemis Oia Cat

This cute kitty adopted us when we were visiting Santorini in 2005. I named her Artemis - she was the most aggressive and wily of the cats that hung around our pensione.

During our entire 4 or 5 days there - she would arrive in the morning and visit while we drank tea and watched the sunrise over the crater.

This is actually photo of the day for Saturday. This is my buddy Ben - he is getting a big deal - Youth Philanthropy Award in December.

He is getting this because he and his friend Rory raised money for their sister school in Tanzania through a group called Africa Bridges. With that money the school bought a generator and had electricity and lights at their school for the first time.

He probably will not send his sister school any pumpkins. But he has such a big heart - he might try.

One of the great things about walking around a city like London is that you come upon a statue like this - of someone you have no idea who they are and it forces you to do a little research. James Henry Greathead was an engineer who helped pioneer some of the tunneling techniques to build under ground railroads - like the Tube. I won't go into detail about how underground tunnels were first built - but I've seen pictures and let's just say it was slow and incredibly labor intensive. Greathead and others changed that and helped create one of the great subways of the world.
